Terms of service

The agreement between us and you when you use Broken Here. Last updated 29 September 2026.

Who this is between

These terms are between Broken Here (brokenhere.com, “we”) and you: the person who makes an account, and the organisation they make it for. Questions: hello@brokenhere.com.

Accounts and workspaces

A workspace's admins decide who is in it and what they can do, and are responsible for the members and clients they invite. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think somebody else has used your account.

Using it fairly

  • Put the widget only on websites you run or have permission to change, and tell the people who use them, in your own privacy policy, that bug reports can be sent from them.
  • Do not use Broken Here to collect data you are not allowed to collect. It is built to leave secrets out; the settings that mask and redact are yours to set.
  • Do not use the page checker to attack, overload or probe sites, or to get around a site's own protections.
  • Do not try to reach other customers' data, or to break or overload the service.

We may block an origin, suspend a workspace or stop a check that breaks these, and we will tell you why.

Your data

The reports your sites send are yours. We store and process them to run the service for you, and on your instructions: we do not sell them or use them for anything else. What we collect and who helps us run it is in the privacy policy. A data processing agreement is available on request.

Plans and billing

The Free plan costs nothing and has the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can switch or cancel at any time from Billing; a cancelled plan runs to the end of the period already paid, and nothing is deleted when you move to Free: reports, screenshots and members stay. Prices can change; we tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to you.

The coding agent and automatic merging

Handing a report to a coding agent uses your own agent account and your own repository. Automatic merging is off until an admin turns it on, and then merges only what your project's policy allows. We do not promise that a fix is correct or complete: review what is merged as you would any change.

Services you connect

Trackers, help desks, repositories and AI assistants you connect are other companies' services, under their terms. We send them what you ask us to send and nothing else, and we are not responsible for what they do with it.

Availability

We work to keep Broken Here running and your reports safe, but we do not promise it will never be down or slow. A report the widget has sent is stored before it is sent anywhere else.

Liability

Broken Here is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses (lost profits, lost data you could have kept, lost business), and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits a liability the law does not allow to be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using Broken Here and delete your workspace at any time. We can end these terms for a breach, after telling you and, where it can be fixed, giving you time to fix it. Either way, you can ask for a copy of your data first.

Changes

We may change these terms; for a change that matters, we tell customers by email at least 30 days before it applies.
