net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

The site keeps sending the browser in a circle between addresses.

The page never loads.

Why it happens

  • A redirect loop between http and https, or www and the bare domain: Cloudflare set to Flexible SSL in front of a site that forces HTTPS is the classic one.
  • A WordPress site URL setting that disagrees with the server's own redirect.
  • A login redirect that sends a visitor to a page that redirects back.

How to fix it

  1. Follow the chain (curl -IL on the address) and see which two URLs point at each other.
  2. Behind Cloudflare, use Full (strict) SSL.
  3. Keep one place in charge of the canonical address: the server, or the CMS, not both.
  4. Clearing the site's cookies is worth trying before changing anything: a stale cookie that says a visitor is signed in, or has chosen a language, can send one browser round a loop that nobody else sees. If a private window works and a normal one does not, it is a cookie, and the redirect that reads it needs a way out.

Whose problem it is

Usually the site's own code or settings.
