Errors / Network errors
net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
The connection to the server was cut in the middle.
The request fails; if it was the page itself, the visitor sees Chrome's error page.
Why it happens
- The server or a proxy in front of it closed the connection: a crash mid-response, a timeout, a request too large for it.
- A firewall, antivirus or corporate proxy on the visitor's side cutting certain connections.
- TLS problems some middleboxes turn into resets.
How to fix it
- If it happens for everyone, look at the server's and the proxy's logs at that time.
- Check upload and header size limits for the endpoint.
- If only some visitors see it, it is on their network.
Whose problem it is
Either the site's own code or a third party's, depending on where it comes from.
